The Mountain Men of El Jebel were formed in December 1977 by a group
of El Jebel Shriners interested in Black Powder shooting and learn more about the Mountain
Men era in America's history. Many of the members have created their own 1847 Mountain Men
attire, but this is not a requirement for membership. Our Mountain Men have put on
programs at schools teaching
students about the Mountain Men era. These programs are
always well received by both students and teachers. The Mountain Men of El Jebel
have gone
on occasion to Bents Fort in southern Colorado and spent several days living the life as
old 1800's pioneers. This is always a great experience and education for the people
visiting Bent Fort. |
