The El Jebel Medical Staff  is the El Jebel Shrine inner-body unit that conducts regular clinics to determine if an applicant child can be helped by the Shrine Hospital System. The members of the El Jebel Medical Staff , who are also members of the El Jebel Shrine, are healthcare professionals, retired healthcare professionals, as well other dedicated individuals who are all totally committed to easing the suffering of children.
The
El Jebel Medical Staff conducts:

  • Free physician-managed screening clinics for children,
to evaluate orthopedic and burn-related conditions. All children
under 18, regardless of race, creed or national origin are welcome
    at the clinics held at
El Jebel Shrine in Denver on the 1st Wednesday.

  • Post-surgery telemedicine clinics enabling doctors to follow up on patient progress via video up-link.

  • Periodic screening clinics for children outside the metro Denver area.

  • Each year, at the Shrine Circus, the El Jebel Medical Staff
provides a free bicycle helmet to each child that wins one of the bicycles
    given-away at the circus performances.

Shriners History:
The Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine (A.A.O.N.M.S.) was founded in New York in 1872.

Established as a fraternal organization, in its early years, the group supported a variety of worthy causes devoted to the health and well being of children. In 1920, the Shrine formally established the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children as the group's official charity and the first Shriners Hospital opened in 1922 in Shreveport, LA. Now, 80 years later, 22 Shriners Hospitals in the U.S., Canada and Mexico provide the finest orthopedic and burn treatment available for children at absolutely no cost.
